one step forward, ten steps back

why is it that just when you feel you're "one step closer to becoming you" something happens that takes you ten steps back? now to answer my own question. i think it's because if we were to become who we hope to become we would have nothing left to work for in life, no goals, no desires, no triumphs, nothing to look forward to. so for now, we'll win some and we'll loose some and we'll work for the day that there will be total peace, peace of mind, peace in our heart, just plain old PEACE, the one thing that i desire most in my life but it always seems to escape me.

this all made way more sense in my head. please excuse (as always) my lack of punctuation skills. i try, realizing i don't know what the heck i'm doing. so if this makes absolutely no sense to any of you, remember this is my journal and it makes total sense to me. :) well maybe not all the time.

I hear ya!!! But I think you nailed it!! I have learn (over time....sometimes lots of time) to appreciate my trials. They actually do bring you one step closer to becoming you, because they mold the wonderful person you become because of them. They are some christlike attributes that you want to have, but cannot attain truly until you've been through the trials.
From one you knows all to well Ü

Wow, total DITTO what Erin Larsen said. Trials truly make us stronger. For what its worth, I understand. If we had no trials we wouldn't be able to better ourselves.
Love you Stacy!

Sometimes life is an uphill battle but you're right-we always need to be striving to be better! You are the person I want you to be-don't be too rough on YOU!

The art of 'becoming' is one that is never perfected. Our existence is progressive. If we stop learning & growing, we die. It's good to try, but it's also good to stop, rest, and celebrate who you are at this moment, because you will never pass these same milestones again.
